Training and Promotion of Employment with Support
From the experience obtained along the years in which we have been working in the insertion in the work world of employees with intellectual disabilities we can assert that these people need more individualized trainings than their peers. That is why one of the aims of the project of Promotion and Training for Employment with Support is that employees can have different spaces where more time for training can be given to them with the necessary tools and that they can improve those work models required.
Different meetings are planned along the year.
The modality is through different work plans. These ones can be single or in group.
We have worked in certain cases using different activities where the concepts to be treated were:
- Tasks where they have failures concerning time, excess of details and the quality of the finished work.
- Lack of interest and motivation.
- The steps of the work to be done.
- Use of timetables.
- Understanding of the instructions.
- Acceptance of the limits.
- Respect for the social-working norms.
- Reinforcement and training in the different positions.
- Observations at the work position.
- Perception and understanding of the correct behaving.
Training and reflection workshops for the employees
To give each employee the needed supports, in accordance with the areas evaluated in the following ups.
To generate spaces of interchange and reflection, where each employee can share his/her experiences and personal experiences inside the work ambit in the different meetings.
To inform, check and enrich the other areas of the program with the information and remarks made during the training.
Presentation of training programs that help the development of abilities and aptitudes.
Exercising of reflection and valuation of his/her own discourse.
Try to find the best solution of difficult situations.
Make possible the fulfillment of their linguistic and communicative abilities so he/she can understand and express themselves in different contexts to increase their possibilities of interpersonal communications.
Promote and support the autonomy.
Make possible the learning of new knowledge an also to reorganize and fix the ones that they already have.
Make possible the learning as a tool that will allow his/her work progress.
Through different work plans, and working in group or individually.
