WE ARE VERY PROUD, DISCAR RECEIVED THE ´REINA SOFIA´PRIZE

Last March, 18Th, Queen Sofia handled in Toledo the prizes named alter her which are given by the Real Patronage on Disabilities, depending on the Sanitation Ministry of Spain.

The ¨Reina Sofia¨prizes reward the continuous labour, made in a time no less than ten years, of scientific investigation in the disability rehabilitation field, in different phases, in order to have the social integration of people with disabilities.

This year, the prize was given for the first time to an Argentinian Foundation, and in this opportunity the one rewarded was our Fundacion DISCAR ¨because they support the work trajectories in the ordinary employment of people with intellectual disabilities, having the necessary support, in this way generating spaces of interchange, reflexion, research and diffusion.

A reward that makes us proud and encourage us to work even more for a true inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities because now more than ever we affirm that: INCLUSION IS AN EVERYBODY COMPROMISE. WE WANT TO CONGRATULATE THE TEAM OF PROFFESIONALS AND TEACHERS AT DISCAR because without their compromise and work this would not be possible.

DISCAR IS A FINALIST IN THE CONTEST “ABILITY IS DEVELOPMENT 2010”
At the same time of the Fair “Ability is Development 2010”, organized by the Group for the development of Abilities of the United Nations Program for the Development (PNUD), and in association with the Learning Net on Development of Abilities (LenCD) and the Alliance for the Impact, DISCAR had been selected as a finalist for an eighteen people jury, who determined that their contribution has been underlined from the other participating experiences by the quality of the experiences and the level of compromise with the development of different abilities.



RSC2009 DISTINCTION – “AN EXAMPLE OF LIFE”
This year, the “RSC Example of life Distinction” was for Victoria Shocron, President of Fundacion DISCAR, who together with Alejandra Manzo, the new actress who was discovered for the movie “ANITA” directed by Marcos Carnevale, went up to receive the important award.
 Puente, having the solidary participation of renowned people form the show business, culture, sports and journalists, who went up to hand over the prizes to each one of the winners.

“Distinción RSC Ejemplo de Vida” para la Fundación Discar

“Distinciones RSC, 6ta edición” es una movida solidario-comunicativa, ideada por Guillermo Petruccelli, quien con una riquísima trayectoria de 25 años en los medios más importantes del país y desde “El duende”, por Radio Continental, generó hace 6 años con la creación de RSC, Responsabilidad Social Comunicativa, una revolución en cuanto al tratamiento y la difusión de noticias referidas al bien público, así como también a la toma de conciencia en la opinión pública.

Bajo el padrinazgo de Juan Carr, titular de Red Solidaria, “Distinciones RSC” alcanza en la actualidad el máximo reconocimiento y valoración, ubicándose como una de las premiaciones en su temática más prestigiosas a nivel nacional y por su difusión con un alto reconocimiento internacional.

Este año, la “Distinción RSC Ejemplo de Vida” fue para Victoria Shocrón presidente de la Fundación Discar quien junto a Alejandra Manzo, la actriz revelación que descubrió para el film “Anita” dirigido por Marcos Carnevale, subieron a recibir el importante premio.

La ceremonia que fue conducida por Ricardo Martinez Puente, contando con la presencia solidaria de reconocidas figuras del espectáculo, la cultura, el deporte y el periodismo, quienes subieron a entregar las estatuillas a cada uno de los ganadores.

Entre ellos: Nicole Neuman, Nacho Goano, Cristian Sancho, Maru Botana, Eduardo Blanco, Mario”Pacho”ODonnell, Juan Alberto Badía, Karin Cohen, Guillermo Andino, Maby Wells, Miguel Abud, Sergio Lapegüe, Silvia Pérez, Benito Fernandez, Fabio Cuggini, Valeria Shapira ,Guillermo Novellis, Denise Dumas, Macu Mazzuca, Claudia Pandolfo, Paula Volpe, entre otras reconocidas figuras.




DISCAR WAS DISTINGUISHED AT ¨LEGISLATURA PORTEÑA¨
The Honourable Legislatura Porteña distinguished FUNDACION DISCAR declaring its labour of “Social Interest”. A recognition that makes us very proud because it represents the compromise and non ending work made by all the people that form the foundation.

"ANITA" AWARDED
“ANITA”, the last movie directed by Marcos Carnevale, obtained two mentions at the Latin Cinema Festival in Los Angeles.
The movie stared by Norma Aleandro, Leonor Manso, Luis Luque, Peto Menahem and Alejandra Manzo, that was presented for the first time on August 27Th, 2009 was awarded with the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize at the Latin Cinema Festival in Los Angeles.

La última película de Marcos Carnevale, "Anita" que ya había sido reconocida de Interés Público por la Legislatura Porteña, anoche recibió el Premio del Jurado y el Premio del Público con el 91% de los votos en el Festival de Cine Latino de Los Ángeles.

Luego de las exitosas "Elsa & Fred y Tocar el Cielo, Marcos Carnevale vuelve al ruedo con una película sensible que relata la historia de Anita, una chica que padece Síndrome de Down y vive con su madre ! en el barrio del Once. El 18 de julio de 1994 el atentado a la Mutual AMIA cambiará su vida para siempre. Anita no entiende qué ha pasado, sólo recuerda que su madre salió a hacer un trámite y de pronto la tierra tembló. El ruido la asusta y decide salir de su casa, se pierde en la gran ciudad donde comienza una larga odisea. Ella no sabe qué ha sucedido, no sabe que la están buscando...no podrá comprender lo incomprensible.

El rol de "Anita" fue interpretado por Alejandra Manzo. "La descubrimos luego de varios castings", relata Carnevale. "Victoria Shocrón, de la Fundación Discar, me acercó un material de ella y no tuve dudas: Alejandra Manzo era Anita. Alejandra es toda una revelación como actriz. Va a sorprender... y mucho", comentó el director durante el rodaje.

DUBAI PRIZE
Fundacion Discar has been selected between the 100 Best Practices worldwide.
The Technical Committee met in China, identified the 100 Best Practices from a total of 700 initiatives from 88 countries, presented for the Dubai Prize 2006. To be part of these 100 Best Practices is an international recognition very important for the organizations, the ones that has been distinguished with a certificate as Best Practice given by the United nations.



FINALIST AT THE VISIONARIS PRIZE (UBS to the social entrepreneur)
Miss Victoria Shocron has been chosen as one of the four finalists of the Visionaris Prize, UBS recognition to the Social Entrepreneur, prize given this time to the work presented on the subject:
OPTIMIZATION OF RESOURCES: Generating a strong impact with limited resources and associations with companies or another social entrepreneurs.
The selection was in charge of 12 successful managers to whom we want to thank because they considered the task of Fundacion Discar as deserving of this recognition.



MC DONALDS – INTERNATIONAL WOMEN`S DAY PRIZE 2004
With the vote of well known journalists and opinion leaders three social enterprises directed by women as examples of our society, were selected. Victoria Shocron was distinguished together with another two Argentinian entrepreneurs and the Foundation obtained a Prize of $ 5,000, which will be destined to improve the building conditions.



III Journeys of Buenos Aires for the Integration
It gave to Fundacion Discar the Mention of Honour for its task in favor of the Social and Work Integration of people with special needs. Inside the event organized by the Government of Buenos Aires in 1995.



ASOCIATION OF ADVERTISING AGENCIES ON THE STREETS

Certificate of Honour distinguished with a Golden Star of the Human Genre given by TRANSACADEMIA, Universal Institute of the Nations.



CHRISTIAN FAMILIAR MOVEMENT
DISCAR was preselected on the SOCIAL ACTION field, for the testimony NATIONAL UNION, 1999 Edition, under the ad vocation of the Sacred Family of Nazareth.



ACE (ASOCIATION OF SHOWBUSSINES CHRONICLES)
During the handling of prizes to theatre performances of the year, a distinction for her support to people with disabilities in the Artistic field/1994.



NOMINATION TO THE PRIZE “SAN MARTIN DE TOURS”
Our Lady of the Snow, patron Saint of Buenos Aires city. To Victoria Shocron for her love labour with people with disabilities/November 11Th 1993.
