WORKSHOP ON READING AND WRITING FOR GROWN UPS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY
This Workshop is held at Fundacion Discar from 2003 with the following objectives:
• For the subject to acquire the basic writing notions.
• To help young people to develop their reading ability.
• To stimulate the reading and writing ability in the ordinary life, in order to favor the inclusion and normalization within the society.
• To gain the development of their autonomy.
• That the young people would be able to express in a written way their ideas and thoughts.
DURATION OF THE WORKSHOP
This workshop has a yearly duration, from April to December, 2010.
It will be held each Wednesday.
Each encounter will last an hour and a half.
This year project has as an objective the making of the third book:
Book III
An adaptation of Classic Short Stories, with different endings.
OBJECTIVES
- To stimulate the autonomy and the using of the community.
- To work on social abilities.
- To try to organize a day out.
- To understand the importance of reading and writing in these activities.
- To stimulate the critical thought and the practical judgment.
- Comprehensive and attentive listening.
- Respect for the productions.
- Guided Questionnaire.
- Directed dialogue.
- Orientation on the task.
- Coordination of the activities.
- Explanation of the instructions.
- Stimulation of the oral and written expression.
