ANALYSIS OF THE 2008 PERIOD, PROYECTS AND PERSPECTIVES FOR 2009

The 2008 period had the particularity of treating the meetings for creation of songs, and the repertoire of the popular anthology over the making of musical instruments.
In the whole first third period and the second part of the second one we composed and recreated some songs in order to try to defeat the inhibition of liberating the sound in front of the partners, in order to project the voice in front of the DISCAR community during the periods of demonstration at the first half of the year and at the end. The idea was to recreate in a instrumental way the songs with the participants that were more secure in the performance.(Ezequiel, Martin, Mariano to "free" the other members of the responsibility) and to compose and sing without the pressure of the performance.
This could be seen in some cases, in others more work, contention and stimulation is needed.
Just in the second part of the year we began working with the "Gabinets", a project that brought a lot of attention.
This year we will resume it, modifying some aspects of the making, specifically the mouthpiece.
During this process I could see a good acceptance of the air instruments and the possibility to create an ensemble of wind instruments with them.

2009 INTENTIONS

One of the constant challenges of the workshop is to project a program that can contain the different assimilation levels of the instructions that each participant has. The course has in general three levels of production.
The challenge is always to make a project that can include the three of them in a different way.
Another demand of the workshop is that the program must be renovated each year, because there is a big percentage of students that participate year after year, and it is necessary for them to find different teaching tools, in this particular case, new instruments to be made, and possible for them to make.

2009 YEAR

MAKING
During these years all the instruments to be made were the same for all the students.
This year we are going to personalize each instrument. To make a diagnosis of the participants and distribute to them the instruments to be made depending in the difficulty they have.
This will provide some advantages:

  • A bigger register of instruments to be played in the future.
  • A following of the activity of each student.
The most likely instruments are:
  • Peruvian Box
  • Wood Bongo
  • Chekere
  • Modification of the globinetes
  • Caxixis
PLAYING
Repertoire of guitar songs for all ages.
Songs and rhythms with the instruments already made and to be made in the future.
To develop a repertoire for solos and duets.
